A molecular biologist for 12 years prior to before becoming a science teacher. Pre- and post-doctoral research were in leukaemia, asthma, and arthritis, with several successful molecular biology papers arising from that phase of work. During the last 20 years in education, I have been in middle leadership, senior leader, as well as an educational adviser for Science for several London local authorities. I am currently an independent educational consultant specialising in promoting good teaching in science.
I have worked extensively as a triple science adviser across London schools under the DfE funded triple science support programme. I have been an active committee member for the Association of Science (London Region) for over 15 years and has also worked extensively with The National STEM Centre (York) and other science educational organisations promoting the sciences. I am passionate about science and promoting equity in education. I was the lead author for a 2018 ASE Article in ‘Education in Science’ titled Triple Science : Equitable or Elitist?
